The Ubuntu Disability Action for Development Uganda (UDAD-U) is a non-profit and research organization that advocates for the inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities in the main stream development process.
Ubuntu Disability Action for Development is dedicated to promoting the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of persons with disabilities. We work to eliminate barriers and create equal opportunities through advocacy, capacity-building, and innovative programs across key areas such as inclusive education, economic empowerment, disaster risk preparedness, and humanitarian response.
We focus on both men, women and young people with disabilities and their right to inclusion and access to education, employment, and health and social services on an equal basis with others within their own communities.
Our VISION
A society for all, where persons with disabilities have equal opportunities to effectively participate in decision-making processes and fully exercise their rights.
Our MISSION
To achieve equality in access to social services and improve the livelihoods of persons with disabilities in Uganda.
OUR KEY FOCUS PROGRAMS
OBJECTIVES
- Advocating for Equity and equality for opportunities with PWDS(education access, health, employment, rehabilitation and other key areas)
- Carry research in matters of inclusion for informed policies for inclusive development
- Promoting inclusive economic empowerment through inclusive engagement of pwds economic activities to improve on their livehoods
- Capacity building of leaders with pwds for informed policies and decision at both Local and national level.
- Capacity enhancement in usage of technological advancement (ICT)
